Cool Kate Nelligan was born in the Great White North and began her career North of the border, before hightailing it for England. That brought her to the U.S. to pursue an acting career both onstage and in movies and television. A Four time Tony Award nominee, Kate got her start in theater alongside Hollywood heavyweights like Anthony Hopkins in a few plays, before transitioning from stage to screen in period pieces like BBC One’s The Onedin Line and The Count of Monte Cristo (1975).
